tickers.store

Tickers is the unofficial-official worldwide store for products inspired by market tickers.

I built this brand around a movement I’ve been part of for years on X (Twitter)—one that’s still going strong today.

I developed the brand and the eCommerce site, and without promoting it anywhere, landed an organic sale.

Here’s the full story.

The challenge,
the briefing,
the
movie.

Twitter is an incredible platform. It has the power to bring out the worst in people—but also the best. Yes, it can flood your feed with over-the-top takes from attention-seekers like Elon Musk. But it can also give you access to the sharpest minds sharing insights on current events and the futurelike Elon Musk.

It’s a place where strong communities form, where everyone knows each other by reputation. One of the most notable is FinTwit (Financial Twitter). Mentioning it instantly points to the network of finance-driven conversations, covering everything from markets and economics to crypto and startups.

Like any tight-knit community, many users shape their views, opinions, and even identities based on what they read there. They adopt the lingo, signal their belonging, and lean into the culture.

And one of the strongest cultural pillars? Satire and humor. In FinTwit, this isn’t just common—it’s a defining trait. And when it comes to building brands and products, it can be a game-changer.

FinTwit #1

“Places like Finance Twitter (FinTwit) are now more important than ever — it’s simply the best place on the internet to keep tabs on stock market news, events, insights, research, and memes. Sure there are other forums where people talk about stocks online (Reddit, StockTwits, Discord), but Twitter is objectively the most influential.”

What I did,
why I did it,
and how

The finance world is packed with jargon—bullish (rising market), bearish (falling market), dip (a temporary drop), moat (a company’s competitive edge), and so on. But above all, it runs on tickers.

A ticker is a unique alphanumeric code, always starting with $, that identifies a publicly traded stock. Search $AAPL, $MSFT, or $AMZN on Twitter, and you’ll find everything from expert analysis to armchair hot takes. Search it on Google, and you’ll get real-time stock prices and charts.

I built Tickers around a simple insight: FinTwit users treat the stocks they own—especially the winners—as part of their identity. They wear them like a badge of honor. So I created a brand that taps into that mindset, offering everyday products designed to be easily shared online and built for cross-selling. I started with caps and mugs—minimalist, content-first designs with a print-on-demand model to test product-market fit, see which tickers resonate the most, and evolve the brand from there.

Keys

Extreme audience insight with a razor-sharp buyer persona. The one who chases freedom every day—from their desk—through investing. The one scrolling their TL with a strong coffee in hand. The one who sets up notifications to be the first to know. The one who believes they can build a better future for themselves and their people… and then actually does it.

A descriptive naming that gives both legitimacy and uniqueness to the product. Tickers sells products with tickers—simple as that. It’s not an official store because tickers are public domain. That’s why it’s the unofficial-official store. It stands alone in its category—and the goal is to keep it that way.

A minimalist aesthetic inspired by traditional financial media—Bloomberg, Forbes, The Wall Street Journal. Designed to be about content, not form, making it instantly relatable. A mug, for example, ready to be shared on Twitter with that first morning coffee when your stock jumps 3% after earnings.

A print-on-demand model that balances brand quality and product customization with logistical efficiency. It allows every stock ticker in the world to be available—without inventory—while testing product-market fit, tracking what works (and what doesn’t), and evolving the brand accordingly.

Impact,
Impact,
Impact.

The brand purpose behind Tickers is simple: saving, investing, and building wealth create a freer world with better opportunities. You don’t need to be rich to invest—investing is about believing in a better future. And wearing the tickers of the companies you back? That’s a statement of pride.

I launched the site in 2022. Never really pushed it, but still managed to sell a couple of caps in the U.S.—the main market I had in mind. Not product-market fit yet, but it shows promise. The reason I didn’t take it further? I believe the best strategy is going all-in on content, and that’s not my strong suit.

So, if you like this project, live for markets and social media, create content at lightning speed, and thrive in chaos—hit me up. Everything’s set up, and I see huge potential.

In a nutshell

A powerful insight: FinTwit users see the companies they invest in—and that perform well—as an extension of themselves.

A brand strategy built on purpose and aspirational messaging, fused with meme culture and sharp satire. A minimalist aesthetic that aligns with their values and is worth showing off.

A business model that balances quality with logistical efficiency, testing product-market fit globally—without ever holding stock.
